Terms of Service
Last updated: October 9, 2026

1. Who we are and scope
These Terms of Service govern purchases of and participation in online courses and online retreats offered under the name Rigpa Awareness Academy through rigpaacademy.org and the online learning services we use.
The seller and service provider is MINDCHECKUP INC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operating the Rigpa Awareness Academy educational project.
Address: 312 W. 2nd St #1168, Casper, WY 82601, United States.
Email for support, complaints, and refunds: info@rigpa.space

These Terms do not govern in-person retreats, pilgrimages, travel, accommodation, or transportation. Such activities require separate terms.
Please review these Terms before purchasing. We will make them available before checkout and ask you to accept them when ordering. Your purchase is governed by the version accepted at checkout, the description of your purchased program, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explains how we process personal data.

2. Eligibility and accounts
Our online courses and retreats are available only to people aged 18 or older who have legal capacity to enter into a contract.
Access to your personal account requires an email address and password. Provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Your purchase and account are for your personal use; do not share login credentials or transfer access without our written permission.

3. What you purchase
We provide educational instruction in meditation, Dzogchen, Tantra, Sutra, and related practices of the Bön tradition. Programs may include recorded lessons, live online teaching, guided practice, question-and-answer sessions, written materials, and access to participant groups.
The relevant program page states the included content, format, language, dates and time zone where applicable, access duration, technical requirements, and any participation prerequisites. Only the features expressly included in your purchased program are part of your purchase. Individual consultations, certificates, or future programs are included only if expressly stated.
Any required prior teaching, transmission, experience, or teacher authorization must be disclosed before purchase. Purchasing access does not replace those prerequisites.

4. Prices and payment
All purchases are one-time payments. We do not offer subscriptions, automatic renewals, or recurring charges under these Terms.
The price, currency, and any applicable taxes or additional charges are disclosed before payment. By completing checkout, you authorize payment of the displayed total for that purchase. Promotional conditions and deadlines are stated in the relevant offer.
Payments are processed through the payment provider presented at checkout. Available methods may vary. We do not promise that any particular provider or payment method will always be available.
Changes to future prices do not change the price of a completed purchase. A declined or incomplete payment does not create paid access. If a payment is reversed, we may suspend the associated access while we resolve the payment issue, without limiting your legal right to dispute a charge.

5. Access and digital delivery
For an online course available immediately, access is activated automatically within 30 minutes after successful payment confirmation. Access instructions are sent to the email address provided at purchase or made available in your account. Contact info@rigpa.space if access is not available within that time.
For a program advertised as starting on a future date, account access or enrollment confirmation may be provided earlier, but scheduled teaching and content are delivered according to the dates and release schedule disclosed before purchase. Instructions for attending live sessions will be provided before the first scheduled session.
For the refund policy, access to a recorded course begins when its first purchased lesson or substantive learning materials are made available to you and we notify you how to access them. Opening an empty account, receiving a payment receipt, or joining an administrative participant group does not by itself start that period. The date does not depend on when you choose to first log in or watch a lesson.
For a program delivered through live online sessions, the refund period begins on the date of the first teaching or practice session delivered as part of that program, even if you do not attend. For a program combining recordings with scheduled live sessions, we apply the later of the recorded-content access date and the first delivered live-session date.
Access duration and permission to download particular materials are stated on the program page before purchase. Moving to a different platform will not shorten the access period promised for your purchase. These Terms do not override a longer access promise expressly made in the program description.
You need a suitable device, internet connection, and any software identified for the program. We will provide reasonable assistance with access problems. A problem with our delivery remains our responsibility; your own connection or device issues do not automatically extend the refund period, but your statutory rights remain unaffected.

6. Refunds and cancellations
Our Refund & Cancellation Policy below forms part of these Terms. We offer a full refund when a request is submitted within 14 calendar days after the applicable access or live-program start date described in Section 5. Watching recordings or attending sessions during this period does not disqualify you.
Write to info@rigpa.space with your purchase details and reason for requesting a refund. We request the reason for feedback and do not assess whether it is sufficiently persuasive. No reason is required to exercise a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation where applicable law provides one.
We initiate eligible refunds within 5 business days after receiving the request. Bank or payment-provider posting time is separate. Following a full refund, access to the refunded program, materials, and associated participant groups ends.
Our voluntary refund policy does not exclude statutory withdrawal rights or remedies for non-delivery, defective content, or other failures to perform the contract. See the full policy below.

7. Program changes and organizer cancellation
We may make reasonable adjustments that do not materially reduce the purchased program, such as minor timetable changes or corrections to materials. We will notify you promptly of significant changes.
If we cancel a purchased program before it begins, we will issue a full refund. If we materially postpone it or materially change an advertised essential feature, you may decline the change and request a refund of the affected purchase. We will not substitute credit or another program for a refund without your agreement.
If a program is interrupted after it begins, we will seek to provide the missing teaching or a suitable replacement. If that is not reasonably possible, we will refund the undelivered portion; if the interruption substantially defeats the purpose of the purchase, we will provide a full refund. This does not limit remedies required by law.

8. Personal use and intellectual property
Course recordings, teaching materials, translations, text, graphics, and other content are owned by the Company, the relevant teachers, or other rights holders, or used with their permission.
Your purchase grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased materials for your own study during the promised access period. Downloading is permitted only where expressly enabled or authorized.
Without the relevant rights holder's permission, you may not distribute, sell, upload publicly, rebroadcast, or share purchased recordings or materials; record live sessions yourself; share access credentials; or use the materials to offer your own paid course. These restrictions do not remove uses or exceptions protected by applicable law.
Copyright concerns may be sent to info@rigpa.space with details identifying the relevant work and the material at issue.

9. Participant conduct and contributions
Treat teachers, facilitators, and other participants respectfully. Harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, unlawful content, spam, unauthorized advertising, and disruption of sessions are prohibited. Do not disclose another participant's personal information or private communications without permission.
You retain ownership of questions, comments, or other content you contribute. You grant us only the permission reasonably necessary to display or discuss that content within the program, moderate participant spaces, and include it in participant recordings as described below. You do not grant unrestricted advertising rights or assign ownership of your contributions. We will obtain separate permission before using an identifiable testimonial or participant contribution for public promotion.
We may remove inappropriate content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, comply with law, or address a material breach. Where appropriate, we will explain the issue and allow you to correct it. Serious misconduct may require immediate action. We will not terminate paid access arbitrarily. Any refund consequences will be assessed fairly and remain subject to mandatory law.

10. Live-session recordings
Online retreat sessions may be recorded and made available only to participants enrolled in that retreat. If you enable your camera or microphone or ask a question during a recorded session, your image, voice, displayed name, and question may appear in the recording. We will notify participants when a session is recorded.
You can keep your camera and microphone off. To ask a question without being identifiable in a recording, contact the facilitator beforehand to discuss an alternative. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information during recorded sessions.
Participants may not share these recordings outside the retreat. We will not publish identifiable participant footage openly or use it in advertising without separate permission. Contact info@rigpa.space with recording or privacy concerns. Recording-related personal data is handled under our Privacy Policy and applicable law; these Terms do not waive privacy rights.

11. Educational purpose and practice
Our programs provide contemplative and spiritual education. They do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy, or professional healthcare advice, and are not a substitute for appropriate professional care. We do not guarantee a particular spiritual, psychological, or physical outcome.
Participation is voluntary. Follow the teacher's instructions and any practice-specific safety guidance. Where a program includes breathing techniques or physical practices, consider your individual circumstances and seek appropriate professional advice if you have concerns about suitability. Stop a practice if it causes distress or discomfort and seek appropriate assistance when needed.
This section does not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Third-party services and availability
We may use external learning, video-conferencing, messaging, hosting, and payment services. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply to your use of their platforms. This does not relieve us of our obligations to deliver what you purchased.
We take reasonable steps to keep our services accessible but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. If an interruption materially affects paid access or teaching, we will work to restore delivery and provide an appropriate extension, replacement, or refund where warranted.

13. Legal restrictions
We may refuse or restrict a transaction or access only where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, sanctions, export controls, or payment-provider restrictions. You may not use false information to circumvent those restrictions. Where we cannot lawfully provide a purchased service, any refund will be handled as required and permitted by law.

14. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EXCEPT FOR OUR EXPRESS CONTRACTUAL PROMISES AND WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES REQUIRED BY LAW, THE WEBSITE AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT ONLY TO THE EXTENT SUCH WARRANTIES CAN LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.
We do not warrant that participation will produce a particular spiritual realization, personal transformation, health benefit, or other individual result. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device, or that all electronic communications will be free from harmful components. We will nevertheless take reasonable steps to maintain the services and address problems affecting what you purchased.
General information or informal communications do not create additional warranties. This does not exclude reliance on binding pre-contractual statements or express promises in a program description or purchase confirmation.
This disclaimer does not remove our obligations concerning paid access, the advertised program, refunds, reasonable care and skill, or mandatory guarantees of conformity.

15. Limitation of liability
The limitations below apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and are subject to the exclusions at the end of this section.
We, our teachers, employees, contractors, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost business profits, business opportunities, or business revenues arising from use of the services, to the extent these exclusions are lawful. Our programs are supplied for personal educational use. Losses caused solely by your misuse, unauthorized sharing, failure to follow disclosed practice instructions, or your own device or internet connection are not our responsibility to the extent they are not attributable to our own breach or fault.
Subject to applicable law, our aggregate liability, together with that of our teachers, employees, contractors, and licensors, for claims arising from the same purchased program will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the total price you paid for that program. For claims relating solely to free website use and not to a purchased program, the limit is USD 100. These limits apply regardless of whether a claim is based on contract, tort, or another legal theory, but only where legally enforceable.
These limitations do not restrict or cap refunds expressly promised under these Terms or our Refund & Cancellation Policy. They do not limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. They do not exclude mandatory consumer remedies, statutory damages where limitations are prohibited, or obligations concerning delivery and conformity that applicable law does not permit us to limit.

16. Indemnification for unlawful conduct
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you will reimburse the Company and its teachers, employees, and contractors for reasonable, documented losses, amounts payable to third parties, and reasonable legal costs resulting directly from a third-party claim caused by your intentional or negligent unlawful conduct, infringement of another person's intellectual property or privacy rights through content you submit, or deliberate unauthorized distribution or commercial exploitation of our protected materials.
This obligation does not arise merely because you purchased or participated in a program, requested a refund, exercised a consumer right, made a good-faith complaint, or disputed a charge in good faith. It does not cover losses caused by our own breach, negligence, or misconduct or that of the person seeking reimbursement, and applies only to the extent the loss is attributable to your conduct.
We will promptly notify you of any claim for which we seek reimbursement, take reasonable steps to mitigate loss, and give you a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense. No settlement that imposes an admission, non-monetary obligation, or payment obligation on you may be made without your written consent, which must not be unreasonably withheld. You retain the right to contest whether reimbursement is owed. This section does not create automatic charges to your payment method.

17. Dispute resolution, governing law, and courts
If a dispute arises, please email info@rigpa.space with your name, the relevant purchase details, a description of the issue, and the resolution you seek. We will attempt in good faith to resolve it informally within 30 calendar days after receiving sufficient details. This informal process is not a mandatory barrier to court proceedings and does not suspend or shorten legal deadlines, restrict chargeback rights, or prevent urgent protective relief.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without applying conflict-of-law rules that would displace that choice, except that consumers retain the protections of mandatory laws applicable to them, including protections of their country of habitual residence where applicable.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, proceedings arising from these Terms or the services will be brought in the state courts located in Natrona County, Wyoming, or the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, provided the chosen court has subject-matter jurisdiction. This choice does not override mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules or require a consumer to bring proceedings in Wyoming where applicable law entitles them to use another competent court.
These Terms do not impose binding arbitration. After a dispute arises, both parties may voluntarily agree in writing to mediation or arbitration and its applicable procedures and costs. Neither party is required to accept that proposal.

18. Events beyond reasonable control
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events genuinely beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, widespread network outages, government restrictions, or serious unexpected teacher illness, to the extent we could not reasonably prevent or overcome their effects. Ordinary operational problems, lack of funds, or avoidable staffing issues do not by themselves qualify.
We will notify affected participants, take reasonable steps to mitigate the interruption, and seek to reschedule or restore the affected service. This section does not permit us to retain payment for a canceled or undelivered program contrary to Section 7 or our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Your applicable rights to cancellation, refund, or other mandatory remedies remain available.

19. Updates and general provisions
We may update these Terms for future purchases by publishing a revised version with an updated date. Changes do not retroactively reduce rights or promised features of an existing purchase. We will give appropriate notice of material changes affecting ongoing services; changes requiring your consent will not take effect without it.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of later enforcement. Mandatory law prevails over conflicting wording, including in any translation. The provisions on intellectual property, restrictions on use, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination only to the extent necessary for their purpose and permitted by law.
